Cocktail initially a mixture of two or more ingredients with a blend of alcoholic touch makes you zoom like roller-coaster ride. Though, it’s not advisable to go for, but it won’t be misappropriate if you taste this “Cocktail” with a concoction of Saif-Deepika-Diana flavor in it.



Written by Imtiaz Ali, the flick tries to take you to an adventure. The laughs, gags, flirt and lots of ‘talli’ moment will make you familiar and force you to hold your stomach with laugh riot in the first half but after intermission the same ‘Rona-dhona’ alike other flicks will make you yawn at some moments.


Innocent Meera played by the newbie Diana Penty arrives UK and finds herself stucked where she decides to share a flat with Veronica portrayed by Deepika Padukone, a thoughtless drunk-party lady, whom she met in a lavatory.


Soon a fussy guy from Delhi called Gautam dramatized by Saif ali Khan, enters the plot, who overrates himself when it comes to flirt with any lady. There the three decides to share a flat.
With no surprise they have a blast, partying overnight, teasing, pampering and flirting.



That entire Gala, when friends meet one another are placed perfectly. Veronica shares a casual on-off relationship with Gautam.



Till then the flick is really a cocktail to hang out with but sooner like an alcohol it loses its consciousness, when the threesome are in chaos to whom they should really love. Is love a friendship or friendship a love? The story further deals with the same equation.



There are many moments which technically don’t look appropriate, like why Meera stays with Veronica. Carrying lot of emotions, in fact unnecessary rona-dhona in the second half will give you some break to find yourself popcorn.


Diana looks innocuous. Considering her debut, the lady has done a commendable job. Even some of you would see Deepika’s reflection in her as she looked in her debut flick “Om Shanti Om”, being a bit immature in her acting abilities.


Deepika Padukone promises to be a perfect miserable child of a rich family. She carries the aroma of perfect party-girl, always ready for adventure and hangs around. Her looks in a red-bikni compliments her.


Saif despite 41, delivers the childish acts quiet perfectly suitable for teenagers. But the hard work to look younger fails to meet a proper end.


Dimple kapadia, as Saif’s mother and Boman Irani as his uncle deliver a good performance to whatever part they get to play.



Music is undoubtedly great. Pritam’s magic has done it once again. And it needs not to be reviewed. Songs are already bursting the charts including Tum hi ho bandhu, Yaariyan and daru jaisi. The copyright melodies like Desi daru and second hand jawani are also popular on the dance floors.



Cocktail makes you feel out of the world for some duration but it could have been a perfect story. Enter the theatres with your friends to enjoy the new blend of ‘Cocktail’ and get intoxicated for a while.
